Planning - Front Page Mock 1

This is the first of three mocks I have created for my front page. I decided to keep it simple, with just the main band and the title on the front page, with space where I could add a barcode and some other pugs later on. The colours I chose for this were black and red, thus why the word 'Staind' is black with a red outline.

To begin creating my front cover, I had to create a mock layout to see where every item would go on the front page. From this, I am able to build mocks, as well as test them with my colleagues to see what is best.

Magazine Double page spread

For my first and only double page spread, I went with one from Q magazine. Relatively simple, it has a picture of "Kasbian" on the background, as well as the name "Kasbian" across the top. On the right hand side is the main picture of the fellow, and on the left is his tour dates.

An outlined red box in the bottom left contains information of a downloadable music track from online, perhaps as a form of advertising to increase traffic to his own website.

New line of work

Since finishing my preliminary task (the school magazine), I have been tasked to create a Music Magazine front cover and contents page. All posts after this one will now relate to said task.

To-do:

• Choose a name.
• Choose a font.
• Choose a basic colour scheme.
• Research into images.
